The “6th Annual Love Letter to Kyoto, Celebrating Our 25th Anniversary,” which began accepting submissions on May 1, 2025, closed at the end of October. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who submitted works. Thank you very much.

Total Number of Submissions are 668: This year’s submissions were dominated by young people, with one submission from someone under their teens and 168 submissions from teenagers. Many submissions were also from people in their twenties and thirties. The oldest participant was in their nineties, and we even received an entry from Rome, Italy.

The submissions were so diverse, ranging from life-changing events and moving realizations in Kyoto to the charms of Kyoto’s nature that make you feel like you’re recalling memories from a past life, to Kyoto’s delicious food culture, that people from all over the world picked out the wonderful things about Kyoto, making the selection process extremely difficult.

We will be holding three more judging sessions. We will also be judging your votes, and the judges will use these votes as a reference when judging their submissions. Please wait a little while longer for the announcement.
